Dr. Yuko Miyazaki

Thank you For Feet Sake for fixing my foot!

I called and made an appointment with Dr. Yuko Miyazaki. When I had called I was thinking they might be able to fit me in sometime the following week, but they had an opening the very next day!

I rode my bike there and when I went into the waiting room I was instantly greeted by a very friendly receptionist who quickly processed my paperwork and minutes later Dr. Miyazaki brought me back to the exam room.

She checked out my feet, asked me many questions regarding my medical history, had me walk up and down the hallway and determined where the pain and inflammation was coming from.

Dr. Miyazaki recommended a steroid injection into the joint in my foot that was causing problems. I had already done extensive research regarding my injury and knew that this was a very common treatment. She wanted to get an x-ray before proceeding to make sure that this was the problem and not some other type of cyst or broken bone.

This practice has their own x-ray machine! (five stars for this alone!)

The x-ray took about 20 minutes and then the Doc came back to the exam room and gave me the injection. She was very gentle and took it really slow. I'm a big, macho guy but needles scare the bejesus outta me! She told me I should try to stay off the foot and recommended that I pick up an ankle brace and some orthotics. She did not try to sell me any of the products that they had on display in the waiting room and I really appreciate that!

I really love this practice because they are friendly, convenient and were quick to diagnose and treat an injury without requiring multiple appointments or requiring an MRI (something I have read about often)

I am currently in between health plans and I really appreciate the way this team helped me and kept costs down.

It has been a week since my visit and I am feeling very confident that my injury is on the mend! I will update this in a few weeks to keep everyone posted.
